As much as I loved this book, I wish there was a little bit more "serious" note to it.Now don't get me wrong, I highly enjoyed the book! It made me smile, it made me laugh, it got me emotional, and it made me think. I read their stories that they've never told before in the book, saw adorable pictures and read what other guest writers had to say about Rhett & Link.But there are some things I wish they wrote about. I would have liked for the guys to write about their experiences with "failure", what made them keep going when some of their projects didn't work out (Online Nations, Commerical Kings, etc). What did Rhett think when his father didn't want him to go to film school, and what did his father think when they were no longer engineers but posted videos online. How did Ben inspired Rhett & Link, and his battle with cancer. What did Link think of his family growing up, with his parents divorces.I know this book is mainly focused on Mythicality, and is not really a autobiography. But I hope the guys do another book in the future that is more memoir based.Overall, the book was a good read with awesome visuals.

This book is Rhett and Link at their finest, and in my favorite medium. I couldn't put it down (which may have been a bad thing since I'd taken it to work to read during breaks and I had gotten to the part where Stevie talks about her first day watching Rhett and Link have a slap fight I was laughing out loud and a co worker starts walking through. I had to hold in my laughter while they walked by giving me an odd look). I've been a mythical beast for years now and knew some of the references and stories, but I got to read a lot of new stories and the extra content at the end of the chapter's are hilarious. It really shows you more into their nearly lifelong friendship and more of their distinct personalities. I highly recommend The Book of Mythicality to anyone who wants a laugh, whether their a beast or not.

Most Youtube personalities simply crank out books with no creativite interest simply to be paid by their fans. Not Rhett and Link though. The Book of Mythicality is a sturdy, legitimate hardcover book that is chock-full of pure creative energy. Every chapter feels so inspired and passionate. While reading, you can tell that they truly had a blast writing this book, which makes reading it also a blast. I was worried that this book would disappoint, but it absolutely did not. In fact, I'm now going to buy the audiobook as wel just so I can listen to this anywhere I go. If you are in any way, shape, or form a fan of any of the terrific content that R&L have provided over the years, this is a must buy. GMM has been a part of my daily routine since season 4 and have since watched pretty much everything they've ever made multiple times (including Buddy System season 1), so maybe I am a little biased... but I have am very sure that any mythical beast would love owning a copy of this book.

It is the embodiment of mythicality.To those who say that GMM isn’t what it used to be, I suggest you read this book. Good Mythical Morning has evolved over the years, and I think it has evolved in all the best ways possible.But if you miss the days when they would sit back and just talk about things going on in their life - read this book. It has that touch of nostalgia.For the newbie mythical beasts: what a great way to get to know the creators behind your new favorite internet show!Throughout the book I felt like I was just hanging out with Rhett and Link.This book is exactly what I was looking for.Stay mythical!

I bought this for my son's high school graduation in 2018 because he is a fan of Good Mythical Morning. I wasn't sure what to expect and my curiosity got the better of me. I started reading it and couldn't put it down. It turns out that it may be one the best gifts you could give someone for just such an occasion. Great advice, inspirational and funny. It is one of many items I'm giving him for his graduation, but this may be one of the best. Great job Rhett & Link. You have been a positive and hilarious source of entertainment for my two boys for several years. Thank you!

One of my favorite books in all the world. Desert island worthy. The writing is lucid and unbiased. The stories ring true and go deep into human experience. I didn't expect to like it at all since these things are generally not well described, but Carol Flinders' own reticence about people officially canonized by the behemoth institution that gave them so much grief during their lives matches my own rpm about iconified figures who happen, as it turns out, to have been remarkable and interesting people in their own right.It's a hard book to lend people because there aren't many of us who would give it a chance, but if you are reading the reviews here, you may find it nourishing to mind and heart.

I just finished this book and before I re-read it (which is what I intend to do immediately) I wanted to write this review. If you are looking for a book that will help you learn about women mystics, this is the book to read. If you are looking for a book that will introduce you to some dear friends you will want to visit with again soon, this is the book to read. The author juxtaposes beautifully written narrative with thorough scholarly research into stories that are both intellectually fascinating and pleasant to read. The notes, for me, were as interesting as the chapters and that reveals her skill as an author. It's a wonderful book and I recommend it as eagerly and enthusiastically as I introduce one of my good friends to another, certain that they will like one another and become good friends.

Carol Flinders does an excellent job of bringing to life these 7 women mystics. Her handling of this very esoteric material is very sensitive and enlightening; especially so since she does not reveal her own spiritual orientation. The truths she discusses herein are universal truths that saints of all religions experience in deep inner communion with the Divine. She describes these experiences very well as she tells the stories of the seven women. Excellent read for any one seeking a deeper inner experience with the Divine.

The author of this book,Carol Flinders, writes just enough about each of the mystics to keep the reader interested. If you have ever read any of the autobiographies of the mystics you will understand what I mean. Flinders relates the stories of these seven mystics in a way which the reader of today can understand. Some of the feminist issues of the 12th through the 16th centuries are still hanging around today. The mystics are portrayed as deeply religious,empathetic feminists. They fought against an unfair system with grace and were successful enough to be remembered today. I lent this book to a friend. She liked it so much that she bought her own copy. You need to get this book.

I will start by saying that, although I was raised a Christian, I am not one now. So I approached this book with some caution. However, it is well written and makes the medieval world that these women dealt with very vivid. It also makes what they did and wrote very accessible. I have found a lot to think about in this book and it made me want to learn more about some of the things discussed. That said, it is not a book to sit down and read all at one go. I read it a bit at a time, taking it on trips with me and keeping it in the kitchen between times. It was well worth the thought I had to put into the reading.

I think the author missed an opportunity to include at least one modern times Mystic and thenpresented an in-depth comparison of treatment by others, acceptance/non-acceptance by peers, critics, etc.I bought this on Amazon.com.

Carol Lee Flinders did a superb job of making the mystics in her book come alive on the page as real persons living in a particular culture and particular time. Writing about mystics is not an easy task and making them real to a modern audience can be even more challenging. As a woman and a Catholic, I was surprised that Carol not being Catholic herself, could express so well the experiences these women had. Her scholarship, research, and writing skills were very evident. The book flowed and kept my interest with each biography. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about women mystics.

I have not read this book cover to cover, and I have not read it so thoroughly that anyone should take in too deeply what I think of it. I would not recommend this book to be used as a primary textbook in class. This is not because the explanations and ideas are completely outmoded, but because it is organized differently from how a typical college course is set up - the organization is "old-school" so to speak. I have taken two general chemistry courses, and the contents of this book are very different from what I studied in class. The fundamental ideas are the same, but with a different emphasis and approach; and personally, I like the book's approach better; it is more comprehensive. Pauling does not omit the better mathematics of chemistry (as it was done and is being done in my chemistry courses), thus introducing the reader to the most elegant and most exciting aspects of chemistry.I have not bothered to work on the practice problems which the book provides since I do not have much leisure time to study subjects outside the courses I am taking, so I cannot make any useful comments respecting that.What struck me about the book is its detailed descriptions of the properties of "interesting" atoms and compounds (e.g. hydrogen, iron, ammonia). It struck me because I am beginning to lose interest in chemistry (because of the way it is taught in class), and reading these chapters provides me with reasons to find chemistry interesting as a whole instead of just the chemistry which overlaps with atomic physics. It gives me an "intuitive feel" for the atoms involved - therefore, less memorization; always a plus. And of course, the chapters on thermodynamics and quantum mechanics are superb. Pauling goes through these topics with a depth which would frighten condescending instructors.That being said, I do not think I would have succeeded in class relying on this book alone; it is, as a previous reviewer said, "eccentric". It is an excellent supplement, but I do not believe it will be enjoyed by anyone without prior knowledge of chemistry or who is not taking a course organized the Pauling way.

I am currently a chemistry student in an honors general chemistry course at an Ivy League university, and I can say with certitude that this is an excellent resource for any chemistry student (with a decent knowledge of calculus), especially considering the price. I don't think it best to use as a default textbook for a modern general chemistry course (Oxtoby and Atkins are both very good; I especially like Atkins because I find the explanations superior to Oxtoby, though if you want the more advanced text you should go with Oxtoby, but be aware that it incorporates a lot of physics in its explanations) but as a supplementary resource it is wonderful. Stylistically, it is very easy to read and everything is explained very clearly. You can tell Pauling's audience was his students. I have a great deal of interest in chemistry and I appreciate the history that it provides on all of the experiments and discoveries, which I find to be lacking in most modern sources, like the aforementioned Oxtoby and Atkins. It is exceptional in that it covers so many diverse topics, which is wonderful because general chemistry is so broad, and in particular has a lot of material on biochemistry and quantum chemistry, which makes a lot of sense considering Pauling's achievements in those fields. Its age does show in the some of the notation. For instance, it seems to defer to using formal rather than molar concentrations, which I had never seen previously (they are however, essentially the same thing; formal simply ignores the species in solution and only looks at the initial number of moles of species present, while molar takes into account species present). I just wish there were a solutions manual somewhere.

I purchased this ebook, General Chemistry (Dover Books on Chemistry) as a Kindle Book for $11.49 and feel after going over it in my initial use of the text, that it is a good buy. I am not a student, rather one who took chemistry in High School and College as a non major subject. Chemistry is not a high profile field that interested me at the time I was in school, other than needing to have some knowledge of the subject. Now I am returning to my studies in science, physics and engineering studies, just for the fun of it. This book is putting me where I want to be with my knowledge of chemistry and will surely lead me to further reading and experimentation. I like it a lot.

I am a chemistry teacher and a chemist, with a background in physical chemistry. I have had the good fortune of having some world-class chemists as teachers during my education, who's insight and wisdom I have (with much effort) tried to incorporate into my own teaching style, as they have changed my life in very significant ways. I purchased this textbook after reading many positive reviews, leaving me curious to hear the words from the horses mouth. Although I have only read the first few chapters so far, I can say that this is the greatest inorganic chemistry textbook that I have ever read. Pauling does a beautiful job of synthesizing classic and modern physics in developing the theories of what is now known as Quantum Mechanics -- his approach is from that of pure thermodynamics, and masterfully done, I might add. Never condescending, but coming from a very different level of understanding, reading this book is like watching any master artist creating their art before your very eyes -- genius in it's raw, pure, unadulterated form. The best that any intelligent being can do is sit back and watch the artist do his thing -- in awe.

Pauling was arguably the greatest chemist of the 20th century. His enthusiasm, intuition, and technical chops are all on display throughout this text. I find I can read this for pleasure, which is rare for a textbook. I wore out the binding of my first copy. Feynmann might be a comp. Chemistry as a subject has doubtless advanced since 1970, but I don't think there is much in this book that needs correcting.

As a teacher of filmmaking and screenwriting for very motivated high school students, I have been on the look-out for a comprehensive, easy to digest, reliable guide to the different crafts and skills that combine to create a final film. This is that book. Mr. Leipzig draws the reader in with a clear, conversational narrative voice that reveals the process with clarity, wit, and specificity. It's that wonderful rarity: a text book that does not read or feel like a text book. It feels like a deep conversation with a talented guide. Along the way, he provides links to online sources that will enable students to have a full multi-media experience to accompany the text. This book will transform the way I teach film and, will, I suspect, be THE book on the shelves of every high school, college, and university film classroom in the country. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I write this from a different perspective. Not as a filmmaker, but rather as somebody interested in the filmmaking process. I found it to be fascinating and can say with certainty that I consider it the best insiders look at the art and business of filmmaking that I've come across. Easy to read, but yet still full of great info at every turn. I like that the authors are proven pros in the industry, as are the many experts that they call on to provide invaluable information. So often these types of books are written by people that have never really done anything in the field. That's not the case here.I will also add that I picked up two copies at the Toronto International Film Festival, and gave them as gifts to two young filmmakers. They have spoken very highly of the book and recommended it to many others.
