Through it all, Cal is there to help her and protect her and Amanda the greenhorn quickly learns self preservation and finds her heart. Good story, clean and easy read. Looking forward to the second book in the series .
I found that this was well written it keep my interest to the very end.I enjoyed the read very much,it was without sexual encounters.About how it was to live in that Time period.I will again be punching this author future books. If you like a clean romantic,action book this book is for you.
In this historical Western romance, all the facets for a suspenseful, adventurous romance come together. Cal Ayers makes a drool-worthy hero whilst Amanda is a heroine I could easily relate to. She has courage and determination, but that doesn’t exempt her from experiencing fear in the face of eminent danger. I enjoyed the insights into pioneer life as well as the glimpses of history. The story is well written with a good plot and kept my attention all the way through. The story is a standalone with a happy ending and can be read by most age groups.
I loved this book and read it in one sitting. What I really enjoyed was the true Western feel. There is a romance here but there is also a fascinating look at what it was like back then and there was a lot going on, villains and an intriguing hero in Cal, the Mountain Man. The story is set in Bozeman, and that is where the author also lives, which helped bring the setting to life, I think. Looking forward to the next book in the series!
What a fun read! I found this to be a good, clean historical Western romance, with just the right amount of tension and suspense, and with believable characters. I love that the mountain man is a true hero, and that our heroine uses her intelligence and courage; and that both are strong people, as they face their challenges. I look forward to more books by this author.
Wonderful clean romance. Hooked me in from the start. Takes the reader on a exciting adventure of twists and turns, Dana is a new author for me, who I think is fantastic! The characters have strong yet tender personalities. I’m looking forward to the next bookThat. Will follow. I’m a fan!
The love story was predictable. The traitor was predictable. I was expecting Historical Fiction. I found fiction that took place at an earlier time in our history. I learned nothing about the era or the place.
If you like adventure, excitement and tracking into the wilderness and unknown territory, this is the book for you. A surprise awaits close to the end that is an unexpected twist.
