Unless this you are this CEO, this book will not be useful nor give you good advice; it will merely be interesting or a “what if” book.It is probably even more narrow: CEOs of venture capital or public TECH companies IN THE SILICON VALLEY IN CALIFORNIA. The advice is very specific to Silicon Valley culture and a specific job in that culture. I’ve worked in Silicon Valley for 20+ years as an engineer and founded my own tech startup 2 years ago, yet this book still does not apply to me because I do not have the exact job described in this book.That being said, the book made a lot sense, seemed to cover new ground (especially CEO psychology and emotions) and was a quick read. It’s a must-read for the 500 CEOs or so that it’s intended for. My one doubt is that “Is It Okay To Hire From Your Friend’s Company?” is probably illegal in California.I got this book on the recommendation from Jumpcut Viral Academy and they should not have recommended it nor do I recommend that others read it. It’s simply not applicable nor useful to non-CEOs. But it’s easy to be star-struck by the author and inappropriately recommend this book as something that it is not. It’s an “already CEO” guide, not about self motivation, not about how to get promoted to CEO, not how to help your CEO, not how to be a VP, not how to network, not how to get funding, not how to start a business and on and on.

“Every time I read a management or self-help book, I find myself saying, “That’s fine, but that wasn’t really the hard thing about the situation.” The hard thing isn’t setting a big, hairy, audacious goal. The hard thing is laying people off when you miss the big goal. The hard thing isn’t hiring great people. This is a well-written story and I really enjoyed it. And I'll continue reading the other two books in the series. BUT ... this author has got to get a proofreader!! I've honestly never read a book with so many typos in it. And I'm not talking about misplaced commas; I'm talking about having the wrong character speaking, entire words left out, misspelled words, etc. It was very distracting and it pulled me out of the book every time I stumbled over another one. It's as if this author and her publisher work on such a tight budget that she writes the book and then a few books get printed up by a second-rate printer and sent out for purchase without anyone bothering to look it over first. Anyway, she's a good writer but the physical book itself is really amateur and poorly published. And a real distraction from a great story line and good sense of humor.

To my surprise this book is advertised as laugh out loud funny. I struggled through the first quarter of it,but have not been able to laugh at all. It is pitiful, a woman who cannot cook, arrives at the restaurant of a family member, signs some papers, and is now the owner. Things like that. If that is what you like, this book is for you. I have a bunch of hopefully better ones waiting. A dollar wasted.

I like most of AR Winters' books. It is an easy read, that I finished in a few hours. The story began quite nicely, and was interesting. The characters were nicely introduced, and I came to like the main character. The reason for the 4 stars is that the book seemed to abruptly end. It went from looking for the murderer and having no clue whom it is, to the end of the book in what felt like a few pages. It left me feeling a little disappointed, and the ending felt a bit rushed.

I should have known better. A much too unrealistic, fabricated plot. The first couple of pages (the ones the preview shows) looked a lot better than the rest of the book. Didn't finish it but got into it enough to feel comfortable giving feedback.

What a fun read. Kylie is newly divorced and finds herself living in her ex's hometown. The fun theme that runs through the whole book is her extreme lack of culinary skill after purchasing a cafe from her cousin. In the midst of trying to find her place in the world again, she meets a great group of people who become new friends. This was a nice mix of laugh out loud funny and snooping to find a murderer. Hope this series continues for a long time.

Well.. I was very disappointed . Expecting humor...only found many typo errors. Will not read any other of author's book. Unrealistic and just plain stupid. Wasted my fixed income money on nonentertainment. Bellylaughs???????

Kylie took her ex husband Mercedes for the trip to Kentucky, if he found out, there would be a warrant.A cousin invited her to come and work in the café, a second chance with new beginnings. She arrives to find her cousins is selling the cafe to her, while she goes to Seattle. Problem #1 Kylie can’t cook #2 cook quits the first day. #3 new woman she hired made killer brownies, which was murder. Staff stayed with her and help her solved. As for the new chef it was to be Kylie with her Ops board. It was funny, had a good plot and a murder to solve.

A. R. Winters does an awesome job with this character. I myself an not a great cook, but she makes me feel like Julie Childs with some of the failures she ends up with in the kitchen. Her friends and side kicks have her back and I can't wait to read more from this series. I'm a finicky reader and all I can say is please don't stop writing on this character.

Many cookbooks try to isolate food preparations into esoteric diatribes that get too lofty and don't welcome cooks into their kitchen. However, this combination is fabulous. It helps to see diverse elements in cooking historically and geographically. I read it like a novel first and was thoroughly entertained. Now I read it for inspiration and menu selections. A friend shared a recipe from this book on FB and I HAD to own it. Cookbook envy of the worst kind!Great food literature!

My mom was a fan of his PBS show and we used to watch it together. When she passed, I didn't want her cookbook collection and now I wish I'd kept some so I was glad to track this down.

Having grown up in New York with exposure to home cooking of of these three culture, I can tell you the recipe are authentic. Enjoyed much.

I love this book. As always, Mr. Smith describes where the recipe comes from, how it is used, and more importantly, WHY. Adapted for the modern kitchen, there has not been a single recipe I've made from this book that is not as good as he says it is.This book was purchased because the price was right, and the librarians laugh at me when I'm back borrowing it again. Now they can't laugh, I have my very own copy.

Excelent cookbook! It was recommended to us by a close friend after we ate a delicious quiche at her house and we ask for the recipe. Luckily, we were able to find it on Amazon for a great price and in very good condition.

If you only had one book from the Frugal Gourmet, this one would suffice to showcase his talent and way with people and food.

In spite of Jeff's failing he once again does magic with his recipes, my favorite in this book "Mings Chinese Chicken Salad".

I truly believe this is one of the best all time & most fun books on Italian cooking! I have owned it for years and cooked many of the recipes and have loved the way Jeff Smith writes about the Italians love of food, the anecdotes, the food origins and how each region influences all the great dishes. You will not be disappointed and will enjoy every page. I give this as a gift whenever I can! Multi bene!

I love this book. It truly had me excited and inspired after reading it. There are many practical suggestions for running a band program, yet it's not necessarily a methods book. This book should be the library of every band director.

One of the best professional books I have ever read!

This is probably THE greatest book I've found for re-examining & inspiring your teaching. The author's tone is friendly, coversational, and humorous, and ideas are clearly outlined--you can read it page by page or skim it for a small dose of inspiration. I reread it every summer & frequently leaf thru it throughout the year--there's TONS of great ideas in here, and even if some wouldn't work for your program it might help you brainstorm something that will. It's an educational book without the academic jargon & without the over-flowery language of someone who doesn't understand the science behind teaching. It's by a band director who just wanted to give his kids the best possible education he could, and just reading through the book makes me wish I'd grown up in his program.

Simple, easy to use ideas and strategies that address real-life in-the-classroom issues of student motivation, attrition, and creating enjoyable and energetic learning environments. I have been using only a small handful of ideas and strategies listed in this book (about 5 of them right now out of thousands) and it has made a noticeable difference in my classes. This book should be required reading for any music education major, beginning or veteran teacher. IT'S THAT GOOD!!!The book is not preachy or touchy-feely at all. It's just full of awesome ideas and really gets to the heart of what makes students tick. Worth it's weight in gold!

This was an amazing read. Every chapter was hilarious, and the advice was tangentially relevant enough to enough of my life to make it more than worth the purchase.Would definitely reccomend to any fan of drag, dicks, and/or drugs.

Was looking for the book by RuPaul say the price, (out of my range) and this was at the bottom in recommendations. Read through quite a few but kept coming back to this, maybe its the picture or the fact that Doogie my first crush wrote the foreward. That being said, I did not know what to expect as I have never watched ANY EPISODE of RuPaul Drag Race and I don't know who William is from a can of beans.That being said, this book is hilarious, filled with wisdom, down right embarrassing and naughty and knowledgeable at the same time. It answers so many questions that I wondered about drag queens, and overall a great read.It touched some topics with a frankness that was refreshing in its honesty. Here is a person that is not afraid to admit that they did what they did because they wanted to and not blame it on some drug or childhood trauma or ask the reader to throw a pity party for them. I liked it, I skimmed through and now it has a honourary place on my nightstand for I shall read it all in its glory.It answers questions you were afraid to ask, some you didn't want to ask, and some you didn't even know you wanted to ask. It's filled with terminology that had me swinging to the back glossary, but I shall incorporate them into my vocabulary when around bitchy co-workers.Its a great book. I will be pimping (did I just age myself, who cares) this out to my friends. But I won't lend them my copy (heifers don't know when to return *&%) but encourage them to buy their own, as I know I will come back to this book again and again. Its going on my favourites shelf, goodness help me if my mother ever picks it up...

After hearing this book being called a "self help" book I thought it was just a joke considering Willam is a comedian. But the tips in here are actually very useful not just for drag queens but for anybody. Willam's talent is multifaceted! He managed to not only make an interesting and funny book but a useful one as well. The construction alone is worth 5 stars. Books of this quality usually cost a lot more. The glossy pictures are beautiful and the book is sturdy, pages don't seem very likely to bend. I absolutely love this book. When I finish reading it I will leave it on my coffee table for all guests to see. :P

I've been waiting for Willam to write a book ever since I saw him on Drag Race. That intensified when The Stylish on YouTube presented him on his own show, "William's Beatdown," and has continued to this day. Willam is blunt, wise (don't believe me, watch the Beatdown and catch all the obscure and often surprising references he makes...he's smarter than you look) and hilarious, whether discussing how to beat your mug or how to tuck...and everything else. You cannot go wrong with this book.If I had any criticism of this book, it's not much. There's a couple words missing from the Dragtionary (at the back of the book) that are bolded in the book, so while you probably can pick up on what it means, it'd still be nice to know how Willam defines it. And yeah, some grammatical stuff, but it's Willam, so you get over it and enjoy. :)One last thing: You'll never look at pull-n-peel Twizzlers the same way again after this book.... ;)

So delightfully inappropriate. This is one of those books that you'll laugh your a** off while reading and not care about all the looks you're getting. You'll switch from "OMG she did not" to "I hope no one below the age of 18 knows this even EXISTS" like nobody's business.

BUY THIS BOOK. BUY it if you love Willam or if you hate Willam. The tips in this book will make you a more tolerable human being and show you how to win at life. Shoot, it might even get you invited to more parties...or backseats. It's full of funny anecdotes and even pretty picture pages (for those who can't read) and you can even color a page. Willam really earned that 60k. They need to cough up another 125k and get that second book on the roster.
